Project Planning Methodology, Project Manager
Description
The Project Planning Methodology provides a common approach to planning when ever a plan needs to be created or updated. This process directly supports these other processes:
- Initiating a Project - Phase Plan in Section 4 of the Project Plan
- Planning a Project - Project Plan
- Planning a Phase - Phase Plan in Section 4 of the Project Plan
- Managing Work Packages - Work Package
The following steps are used to produce the required plans:
- Defining and Analysing Work Products
- Identifying Activities and Dependencies
- Estimating Duration and Resource
- Scheduling Work
- Preparing the Cost Forecast
- Analysing Risks
- Completing a Plan
These steps are used with product based planning to ensure that all of the required products are planned and resources are available. A life cycle process can replace the need for Product Based Planning and the Product Flow Diagram. The Life Cycle Process is identified in the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
