Decisions and Approvals, Stakeholders and / or Sponsor
Description
The Decisions and Approvals activity involves the stakeholders to ensure that the project will achieve the stated business benefits.
The Stakeholder Management Team (SMT) represents the interests of the users, suppliers and the business on behalf of corporate or program management.
The SMT needs senior management participation and is designed to use their time effectively. The principle of 'Management by Exception' is used to involve the SMT only when decisions or actions are necessary.
The SMT may decide to prematurely close the project or approve the Next Phase Plan.
