Identify Team Mission, Vision, and Values, Unit Manager
Description
The purpose of this activity is to define the purpose of this organisational unit (team) within the context of the entire organisational structure. Every team needs clear mission (Purpose), vision (best if shared), and values statements. These are used to provide the boundaries for long range and operational planning. This activity is generally iterative.
Any objectives owned by this team are used as input to shape the mission and vision statements. Upper level mission, vision and value statements can be used to help shape these statements. In fact, a shared vision with the other teams can provide improved working across each of the organisations.
These statements are best developed using a workshop structure with all stakeholders present.
