Work Package Management
Work packages are managed using three processes within Controlling a Stage (Project Manager) and the three processes within Managing Product Delivery (Team Member or Team Manager):
CS1 - Authorising a Work Package
MP1 - Accepting a Work Package
CS2 - Assessing Progress
MP2 - Executing a Work Package
CS9 - Receiving a Completed Work Package
MP3 - Delivering a Work Package

These three pairs of activities ensure that there is a controlled break between the project manager and the teams or individuals producing the products. In some cases, the supplier may be an external company. The project manager uses these process steps to manage the contract with the supplier.
On the other hand, these steps and those for Managing Product Delivery may be performed by the same person - the project manager to produce some of the management products.
