This activity identifies the need for a programme and provides the initial resources to quality and start the definition of the programme.
The team prepares the following information to help start defining the programme.
Programme Products - Contained in Programme Plan Section
Programme Brief - Section 2 Programme Definition
Programme Organisation - Section 3 Programme Organisation
Programme Definition Plan - Section 8.1 Programme Definition Plan
The information captured at this point in the programme is packaged into an Initial Programme Plan document.
In addition to the programme plan, the initial business case is prepared with an outline of the expected costs and benefits. A decision to proceed is made given the initial justification of the programme.
