Product-Based Planning, Project Manager
Description
Product-Based Planning provides a common approach to planning when ever a plan needs to be created or updated. This process directly supports these other processes:
- Starting Up a Project (Plan for the Initiation Stage)
- Initiating a Project (Project Plan)
- Managing a Stage Boundary (Stage Plan)
- Managing Product Delivery (Optional - Team Plans)
The following steps are used to produce the required plans:
- Design the Plan
- Define and analyze the products
- Identify activities and dependencies
- Prepare estimates
- Prepare the schedule
- Analyze the risks
- Document the Plan
These steps are used with product based planning to ensure that all of the required products are planned and resources are available. A life cycle process can provide standard product descriptions of products organised in a set of technical stages. The Life Cycle Process is identified in the Project Quality Plan.
